Bohol still waits for OFWs PCR test results as Gov Yap vows to reveal the results himself once these are available

The provincial government is still waiting for the results of the polymerase chain reaction
(PCR) test of the 65 overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) who recently arrived in the
province.

As of noon today, the test reaults are yet to be transmitted to the provincial government,
according to Kevin Damalerio, the executive assistant to the governor.

The OFW were re-tested last Tuesday using the PCR test. The test comes as an
offshoot of the test results on 48 OFWs from Manila that were conducted in Cebu last
April 28, where two OFWs tested positive.

The two OFWs who tested positive in the PCR test were subjected to the rapid antibody
test in a local hospital, last May 2 and the results turned out to be  negative as
announced by Dr. Yul Lopez, the spokesperson of the TWG of the provincial
government. (ardy/dave)

Aside from the 48 OFWs who were subjected to the PCR test last Tuesday, the 17
OFWs from Cebu, who are currently housed at the Mercedarian Retreat House in
Dauis, were included.

The conflicting results between the two test results led the Provincial Government to
decide for the PCR test last Tuesday.
