LGU Tagbilaran extends deadline for tax payments

TAGBILARAN City is being inclusive in its measures against COVID-19,
City Mayor John Gessnell “BABA” Yap supported the move of City

Councilor Joseph Bompat when the latter sponsored three resolutions
extending the deadline of the payment.
The resolutions moved for the extension of the payment deadline for the
following:
a) Mayor’s Permit Fee for Vans for Hire without interest. The dealine
has been moved from March 31 to June 30, 2020.
b) Business taxes for the 2 nd  quarter of 2020 without interest and
surcharges. The payment deadline is moved from April 20, to June
30.
c) Real property taxes for the 2 nd  and 3 rd  quarter of 2020 without
penalties. These taxes may be paid until June 30, 2020.
The 14 th Sangguniang Panlungsod led by City Vice-Mayor Jose Antonio
Veloso approved the measure sponsored by City Councilor Bompat.
This move is to ensure that Tagbilaranons will be given all the assistance
they need in their stand against the threat of the COVID-19.
In fact, City Mayor Yap has been on the move with various initiatives to
alleviate the burden of the people brought about by the Covid-19 health
threat.
Moreover, the positioning of thermal scanners and alcohol in key structures
around Tagbilaran, the strict implementation of curfew, the disinfection
drive, the delivery of food packs, and the total execution of the strategic
Executive Orders mandated by both the Provincial and National
Government were efficiently implemented by the city government.
Thus, with the enhanced community quarantine in place and most of the
businesses establishment being closed due to COVID-19, the extension of
payments is another pro-active stance by the Tagbilaran City Government
in ensuring that Tagbilaranons will stay focused in keeping themselves safe
and healthy during this critical time.
Through the extended deadlines, the Tagbilaranons would be able to
prioritize their money to buy food and other necessities.
The three resolutions mentioned above met no objections from the august
body and were all approved by the presiding officer, City Vice Mayor
Veloso.
The following are the details of the approved resolutions:
 2nd Quarter Business Tax 2020 where the payment deadline is
without interest and surcharges from April 20, 2020 to June 30, 2020;
 1st Quarter and 2nd Quarter Real Property Tax 2020 payment
deadline without penalty until June 30, 2020,
 the Mayor’s Permit Fee For Van for Hire 2020 payment deadline

2020.
