In his latest vlog post, City Mayor John Geesnell “BABA” Yap reminded the
Tagbilaranons to remain vigilant despite the lifting of the Enhanced Community
Quarantine (ECQ).
Mayor Yap reiterated the new guidelines and stressed the new set-up for
the senior citizens and minors. According to Executive Order #28 issued by
Provincial Governor Arthur Yap, senior citizens can go out every Tuesday,
Wednesday, and Thursday from 6:00 in the morning to 6:00 in the evening, while
the minors can go out every Monday and Friday accompanied by an adult from
6:00 in the morning up to 6:00 in the evening,
“We have to remember that we are now ushered into the ‘new normal’, we
cannot return to our old ways. In these days, wearing our face masks, washing our
hands regularly for 20 seconds, and observing social distancing are a must. COVID-
19 has no known cure up to this day and nobody can see the virus; therefore,
nobody has control over it. Cooperation and discipline are needed for us to
overcome this crisis”, Yap emphasized.
Yap was quite alarmed when people started flocking the streets after the
ECQ was lifted. In this connection, Yap reiterated the need for a Home Quarantine
Pass (HQP) when going out and stressed that minors are still not allowed to go
inside the malls.
For those establishments that would be allowed to operate during the
General Community Quarantine (GCQ), Mayor Yap reminded that the Joint
Inspection Team (JIT) will be conducting an inspection to check if these
establishments are following the minimum health standards.
For transporation, every tricycle unit is still limited to one passenger only,
while the Public Utility Vehicles (PUV) are allowed to a 50% capacity only. The “no
backride” policy for motorcycles is still observed.

Thus, amidst the community quarantine, the City Engineering Office under the leadership of City Engineer Teodoro Estoque is also doing double time completing the on-going infrastructure projects of the City Government.
