Gov. Arthur Yap says he has no intentions and there are no reasons he would hide the results of the polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test of the first batch of overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) and their contacts.

He made this statement as an offshoot to some comments and insinuations, specially on social media, alleging that the provincial government may be hiding the test results from the public.

In a statement the governor posted on Facebook on Monday, he said that he has “no interest to hide the results”.

He also mentioned a similar statement in a radio interview over dyTR’s “Open Forum” on Monday.

In the same posted statement, the governor said that the problem may get worse if he will nit reveal the real situation and an outbreak happens.

He said that it would be more dangerous if the Boholanos are unaware of the real score on the Covid situation here.

In that same interview, Gov Yap gave an assurance that every information about the Covid situation will be disseminated properly to the people.

In his statement, the governor said that he understands the people’s anxiety over the delay in the release of the test results.

Meantime, in the same statement on Facebook, the governor said the Department of Health (DoH) regional director Jaime Bernadas explained to him that the two OFWs with positive results are considered to be “false positives”.

The governor added that the DoH classified the two OFWs as false positives as the latter are asymptomatic and have been tested negative for any active infection based on the rapid anti-body test conducted on May 2.
