The 47 town mayors and one city mayor of Bohol province are done in their discussion of the protocols and guidelines pertinent to the return of the locally stranded individuals (LSI) formerly known as stranded Boholanos.
The local chief executives from different local government units (LGU) were briefed on the various protocols and guidelines for the eventual return of the LSIs, by the spokesman of the Technical Working Group (TWG) on new and emerging diseases, Dr. Cesar Tomas Lopez in a virtual presser this afternoon, Friday, May 15.
The rapid test is the primary requirement that an LSI needs to comply with in order to facilitate a return to Bohol.
Lopez said the cost of the rapid antibody test will be shouldered by the provincial government.
Of this, an LSI needs to secure a certification of completion of home quarantine, certification from the local health official of the place of origin, and an undertaking that the LSI is willing to undergo a facility-based 14-day quarantine upon return here.
The number of LSIs returning will depend on the absorbing capacity of an LGU, Lopez said in an earlier virtual presser.
Each LSI shall submit his/her information to the respective local persons of the towns and wait for further instructions, Lopez said.
It was revealed that the provincial government will shoulder the fare of the LSIs in their return to Bohol from Cebu. The governor revealed this new development during Friday’s meeting with the mayors.
