DOH Regl Director Bernadas bares high probability that virus was locally transmitted while GCGMH Chief Macuno believes virus was not contracted in Bohol

Gov. Celestino Gallares Memorial Hospital (GCGMH) chief of hospital Dr. Mutya Kismet Macuno believes that the 3 medical workers who tested positive of Covid may have contracted the virus not here but elsewhere.

However, confirmation of her belief may come only as soon as the swab test results of those included in the contract tracing shall have been received.

As she made the statement, she bared that contact tracing has been initiated on the immediate family members of the two medical technicians as swab samples have been taken.

The swab samples are sent to Cebu.

She hopes that the results will come out soon.

She made the statement in a radio interview, in a program not affiliated with the Bohol Tribune.

She said as per protocol, the immediate family of the medical personnel are included in the contact tracing.

Macuno said the medical personnel arrived in Cebu last May 10 and were tested May 13.

Moreover, those included in the contract tracing have been isolated, she said.

Additionally, Macuno said the medical personnel are asymptomatic and relatively healthy.

Meanwhile, the latest words from DOH Region 7 Director Bernadas say that it is highly probable that the virus was locally transmitted in Bohol.
