Hot pursuit is on for the anesthesiologist who was in the surgery at the Ramiro Community Hospital (RCH) early this week.

Unofficial sources say that hot pursuit operations are being conducted on the anesthesiologist who was allegedly present during the surgery performed on the 17-year-old patient who is probably infected with Covid.

The same source said that the anesthesiologist who was present in the surgery allegedly had other stops in the city after the surgery in Ramiro.

The 17-year-old patient underwent surgery at the Ramiro Community Hospital due to appendicitis. The same patient tested positive for viral infection as per rapid antibody test.

As the rapid antibody test is only a screening test, a PCR test was performed to determine whether or not the patient is infected with Covid 19, according to some sources.

On the other hand, at least 21 persons are identified as close contacts of the 17-year-old patient following the contact tracing done by the Department of Health (DOH) and the Provincial Health Office (PHO).

This was reported by the Technical Working Group (TWG) spokesman Dr. Cesar Tomas Lopez on Wednesday this week.

The personalities identified after the contact tracing have been isolated, he said.

Currently, almost all of the medical professionals, who had contact with the patient, including the doctor who performed the surgery, are now in isolation as per protocol.

Reports say that most of the medical professionals who had contact with the patient are in an isolation area within the compound of the Ramiro Community Hospital.
