Mediaman rants on FB for alleged lack of presscons conducted by the provincial gov’t

A mediaman rants on Facebook, by way of posts seemingly directed at the Bohol provincial government, criticizing the latter’s lack of presscons to disseminate  information to the public.

The mediaman is identified as Anthony Aniscal. Aniscal is a radio personality aligned with local radio station dyRD and also a municipal kagawad of Jagna town.

As of presstime, Aniscal’s posts, seemingly directed at the Bohol provincial government, have already been taken down from his facebook page.

In one of his Facebook posts, Aniscal said, “ganahan kos Government sa Cebu ky very transparent. Halos kada oras ga presscon to update Cebuanos. Dire sa Bohol?”

In a separate post, he said, “The enemy is the virus, not your political ambitions!!! Be transparent!!!”

Also, in a reply to a comment, Aniscal said, “mao na bay. Walay transparency”.

He further said, “wala jud bay, sa kagamay sa mata ky insik man, ingana sab kagamay info iya ihatag sa Boholanos.

It is not directly clear who Aniscal is referring to as the one giving a small amount of information to the public to his small pair of eyes.

However, it can inferred that the one whom Aniscal is referring to is Gov. Arthur Yap, as his posts are directed to the provincial government.

While there is no regular presscon being held, the provincial government is holding a virtual presser everyday via Facebook.

A virtual presser is streamed at 10 a.m. providing latest updates regarding the activities of the provincial government on Covid 19.

Meantime, the virtual presser in the afternoon relays the medical updates with presentor Dr. Yul Lopez, the spokesman of the Technical Working Group (TWG).

The virtual presser happens every 3 pm.

Also, the provincial government through information cluster head Kevin Damalerio is providing updates regarding offshore Boholanos, social services, security measures, and logistics via the Open Forum program over dyTR everyday at noontime.

Yap was the guest in Thursday’s episode of Open Forum and he gave updates on the activities of the provincial government.

In the episode, Yap relayed the following information: that all protocols and standards must be in place before the province opens its doors to visitors and travelers; that the gov is concerned a lot about what will happen to Bohol after May 31st; that Executive Order No.28 is placing Bohol under general community quarantine until May 31; that he (the gov) is not going to open Bohol’s borders to visitors unless everything is ready;

that there is a need to know how to handle the potential 20,000 to 30,000 visitors coming in and out of the province each day once Bohol opens its borders; that there is a need to boost the testing capabilities of the province; that, if possible, there should be testing centers to be placed in multiple sites in Bohol and he mentioned Panglao as the potential sites; that there is a need to put the standards and protocols in place and that screening and testing protocols are needed to be in place for those who are going to visit Bohol.

Moreover, Yap said that there is a need to determine whether or not the community sanitation and safety rules are being followed strictly.

The province has started to open its doors to locally stranded individuals by rolling out the processes and requirements prior to their return to Bohol, Yap added.

He said that aside from the LSIs  and visitors to Bohol, investors are also expected to pay the province a visit once the borders are opened subject to certain limitations.
