City’s First Family shares blessings with urban poor Associations

To celebrate the first birthday of their second daughter, Tagbilaran City Mayor John Geesnell “Baba” Yap II and wife, Jane Cajes Yap decided to to share their blessings with the urban poor associations in Tagbilaran.

The birthday celebrator is Jaby Geesnell Yap, the second daughter of the first couple of the city.

As part of the birthday celebration, live pigs weighing more than 100 kilos each were distributed to the urban poor presidents. Urban Poor Coordinator Jose Curso Pamaong facilitated the distribution.

City Mayor John Geesnell “BABA” Yap and wife Jane are hopeful that the live pigs distributed to the urban poor associations could alleviate the burden brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic.

“Knowing that we were able to ease some burden from our urban poor during this crisis makes the celebration of Jaby’s 1st birthday relevant and meaningful”, Mayor Yap said.

The officers and members of the urban poor associations in Tagbilaran City truly expressed their appreciation for the gesture of kindness expressed by the first couple and family.

Aside from the meat, the urban poor associations also received free food packs from the City Government through the Busog Ang Barangay Program.
