Friday Arrival of 9 LSIs, 19 OFWs noticed

About nine locally stranded individuals (LSI) arrived in Bohol together with the 19 overseas Filipino workers (OFW).

The two groups arrived via the Tagbilaran Tourist Seaport around 4 am on Friday.

The arrival of the two groups was confirmed by Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRMMO) head Dr. Anthony Damalerio to the Bohol Tribune via a telephone interview.

Damalerio said that there are five (5) LSIs who will be quarantined in Tagbilaran City, two LSIs in a facility in Dauis, and two LSIs to join the OFWs at the quarantine site in Panglao, which is a resort.

Damalerio said the LSIs already completed a rapid test in Cebu.

They will be subjected to another test to find out if they were not infected, prior to their release.

On the other hand, the OFWs are quarantined in a resort in Panglao, Damalerio said.

A source told the Bohol Tribune that the 19 OFWs and two LSIs are billeted at the Bluewater Resort in Panglao.

The same source said that the two LSIs that joined the OFWs in the Panglao resort are the ones who will be paying for their accommodation.

The nine LSIs belong to the first batch allowed to return here. These 9 LSIs will undergo a 14-day quarantine period and will be tested using the polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test. A negative PCR result is needed before they are allowed to go back to their respective families.

Meanwhile, the 19 OFWs are also going to be quarantined for 14 days and will be tested using the PCR. A negative test result will give them the permission to go home after completing the quarantine.

This is the third batch of OFWs from Cebu.

Damalerio said all medical protocols and standards are being strictly observed upon the arrival of the OFWs and the LSIs.
