67 OFWs scheduled to arrive here Tuesday as 75 OFWs are already here since Sunday, Monday

About 67 overseas Filipino workers (OFW) are expected to arrive here in the province on Tuesday, May 26, 2020, according to the information cluster head of the Capitol, Kevin Damalerio.

Earlier, around 35 OFWs arrived last Sunday, May 24, 2020, from Cebu and another barch consisting of 40 OFWs arrived in the province via Tubigon on Monday. May 25, 2020, Damalerio said.

Moreover, Damalerio said around 45 OFWs, out of the total 67 OFWs, are arriving via the Tagbilaran sea port, while the remaining 22 OFWs are arriving through the Tubigon port, Damalerio added.

As of posting time, there is no word if there are locally stranded individuals (LSIs) who are expected to arrive together with the OFWs, Damalerio told the Bohol Tribune today, Monday (May 25) via the radio program Open Forum.

The next batches of OFWs coming in via Tagbilaran and Tubigon are from Manila taking a voyage to Cebu and will have a connecting voyage to Bohol.

Further, Damalerio said that the OFW batch who arrived on Sunday are now billeted in Bellevue. According to Damalerio, there were three LSIs who were with the OFWs upon arrival last Sunday.

Meantime, the group of 40 OFWs arrived in Tubigon around 8 am, according to a post on social media by the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) in Tubigon.

According to Damalerio, the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) relayed the information that the OFWs who arrived here in the province already underwent a 14-day quarantine and were subjected already to the polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test prior to their voyage to the Visayas.

All OFWs who’ll arrive in Bohol will be placed under a 14-day quarantine and each OFW will take a PCR test on the fifth day from the day of their arrival in Bohol, Damalerio bared.
