68 OFWs, 2 LSIs arrive here in Bohol

About 68 overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) and two (2) locally stranded individuals (LSIs) are here in Bohol today, May 26, 2020, according to the head of the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO), Dr. Anthony Damalerio.

Damalerio said that of the total arrivals, there are eight (8) OFWs who arrived at the Tubigon port at around 1 am on Tuesday from Mandaue City, Cebu.

Moreover, 60 OFWs arrived at the Tagbilaran Tourist Seaport from Cebu City around 4 am today, Damalerio bared.

Further, two LSIs also arrived together with a batch of 60 OFWs in Tagbilaran, Damalerio added.

Elements of the Provincial Emergency Management Administration (PEMA) were at the ports to ensure that all safety and health protocols are ensured and observed.

All of the arriving OFWs will be billeted in Bellevue Hotel in Panglao, the PDRMMO chief said.

The OFWs will be placed under a 14-day quarantine and they have been tested using the polymerase chain reaction (PCR) with negative result before they came.

They will be again tested, using the PCR test, after five days from arrival.

The LSIs, on the other hand, will be quarantined in their respective towns. The LSIs are from Alicia and Dauis, he bared.

The repatriation of the OFWs is part of the orders from the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) where a deluge of OFWs is being sent home.
