Yap says rapid tests needed for LSIs after undergoing quarantine

Gov. Arthur Yap has just said that rapid tests are needed for locally stranded individuals (LSIs) arriving here in the province once they end their quarantine period.

He said this during a radio interview today, Wednesday, May 27.

The governor said he is looking at the mandatory implementation of this matter. He wants all LSIs to be subjected to the rapid test at the end of the quarantine period.

In the same interview, Yap said that the doctors in the medical cluster of the Technical Working Group (TWG) revealed that the best time for the repatriated LSIs to undergo the Rapid Test is at the end of the quarantine.

Furthermore, Yap said that any LSI who will have a positive result will remain in quarantine and will be treated as appropriate.

Yap also said that he has confidence that the mayors have better understanding about the nature of the virus.

He also said that the provincial government will be shouldering the costs of the rapid tests that will be administered to the LSIs.

As previously announced by The Bohol Tribune, The Department of the Interior and Development (DILG) relaxed the requirements needed by the LSIs to return home. The need for testing prior to the LSI’s trip home has been omitted in the directive coming from the DILG.
