48 OFWs arrive via Panglao airport

Additional 48 overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) are now in Panglao as they arrived at the Bohol Panglao International Airport (BPIA) via a sweeper flight that landed in Bohol on Wednesday evening (May 27, 2020).

According to a report from the Panglao Aviation police station, the plane arrived at around 9:49 pm on Wednesday.

The same report said that the OFWs were flown in by an Air Asia flight from Tacloban.

Upon arrival in Panglao, the passengers were subjected to health and safety protocols before they were transported to their respective quarantine facilities.

A report provided to the Bohol Tribune said that the 48 OFWs are billeted at the Bellevue Resort in Panglao. The OFWs will undergo a 14-day quarantine and will be subjected to a polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test.

It has been reported, too, that all OFWs who are already repatriated tested negative using the PCR test.

Earlier, it was reported by The Bohol Tribune, a sweeper flight carrying 54 OFWs arrived at the BPIA. The original number of OFWs was 55 but one OFW did not join the trip, according to Kevin Damalerio, head of the information cluster at the Capitol.

Moreover, 54 other OFWs are billeted at the Bellevue Resort.

In related development, 170 OFWs arrived via the Tagbilaran seaport around 5 pm on Wednesday (May 27, 2020). These 170 OFWs are now billeted at Hennan Resort.
