Two Boholana overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) have given birth on Sunday (May 31, 2020) while under quarantine.

The two women gave birth in the hospital, according to a Capitol source.

Anthony Damalerio, head of the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) head confirmed that there are two women who gave birth and were brought to the Gov. Celestino Gallares Memorial Hospital (GCGMH) for their deliveries.

However, he has not released any additional information on the details of the two women who gave birth.

A further check made by the Bohol Tribune with Kevin Damalerio, information cluster head at the Capitol, revealed that the women are from Talibon and Tubigon respectively.

He added that the members of the medical team who are stationed in the two (2) women’s quarantine site have been aware that the two women were due to give birth in the period where they are under quarantine.

Moreover, Kevin Damalerio said that the two women had each a delivery and that both are recuperating in the hospital.

The two women are billeted at the Bellevue Hotel prior to the delivery of their respective babies.

Dr. Cesar Tomas Lopez, spokesperson of the Technical Working Group (TWG) said the woman from Talibon gave birth to a baby girl and the Tubigon woman gave birth to a baby boy.

Furthermore, Lopez said that the women will be discharged from the hospital today Monday (June 1, 2020).

The women will be sent to their respective towns to continue their quarantine, Lopez added.

The Rural Health Units (RHU) of Talibon and Tubigon, respectively, have been informed that those who gave birth will be placed under quarantine in the local government unit’s quarantine facility.

To respect their privacy, the women’s identities and other related details are being withheld.

Bohol has been receiving OFWs from Manila and Cebu with several batches arriving starting last week.

These OFWs are billeted in different resorts in Panglao.
