An Executive Order (EO) is now in place extending the implementation of the General Community Quarantine (GCQ) for the province of Bohol starting June to 15, 2020.
Gov. Arthur Yap has just signed Executive Order (EO) No. 28-A for this purpose.
This EO which was signed on Friday (May 29) will be the controlling EO for Bohol from June 1-15, 2020.
To recall, EO No. 28 placed the province of Bohol under GCQ from May 4, 2020 to May 31, 2020.
In EO No. 28-A, minors are allowed to go out of their homes, as long as they are accompanied by, at least, a parent or a guardian, who is not a senior citizen aged 65 years old or over.
The EO also says that the above-mentioned minors are allowed to go out of their homes only on Fridays and Saturdays.
It used to be that these minors, aged 18 years old and below, were allowed to break their curfew and go out from their homes on Mondays and Fridays from 6 am to 6 pm.
Furthermore, there is no change in the days when senior citizens, aged 65 years old or over, are permitted to go out of their homes.
These senior citizens are allowed to break the curfew and go out of their homes on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 6 am to 6 pm.
The EO also says that under no circumstance where people, who are 65 years old or over, may be allowed to go out from their homes on Sundays.
The governor pointed out the exceptions in EO No. 28-A, which are stipulated in EO No. 16-A.
Moreover, any minor whose age falls under the group 15 years old to 17 years old, and who works in agriculture and fisheries is exempted from the curfew on minors.
It is also further mentioned in EO No. 16-A that senior citizens aged 65 years old and over who work in agriculture and fisheries are exempted from the curfew.
Under the GCQ, standard rules on social distancing, general curfew from 9 pm to 5 am, mandatory wearing of face masks, and the prohibition on mass gatherings remain in place.
EO No. 28-A also says that one of the considerations why Bohol is under GCQ is the fact that there are neighboring provinces and other areas considered to be “high risk” where the Covid infection remains to be prevalent.
According to the Inter Agency Task Force (IATF) in its Resolution No. 41 dated May 29, 2020, the province is considered to be under the “moderate risk” category and areas falling under this category of “moderate risk” are are placed under GCQ.
