Provincial administrator Atty. Kathyrin Pioquinto is saying that it is up to the local government units (LGUs) to impose the requirement of having a quarantine pass when a person goes out of the house.
She made the comment in a radio interview today, Monday (June 1, 2020) over Open Forum program aired at station DYTR.
Pioquinto said that at the start, the imposition of quarantine passes was delegated to the LGUs.
Pioquinto said: “Kaning quarantine passes no, sukad pa sa una, we have left it to the discretion of the mayors to issue quarantine passes to their respective constituents.”
As the province remains under GCQ until June 15, 2020, Pioquinto said that the prevailing conditions are still in place, except for the days that the young people can get out of their houses, which are every Friday and Saturday.
In a report dated May 31, 2020, it was said that quarantine passes are no longer needed from the public areas under general community quarantine (GCQ).
According to the Inter Agency Task Force (IATF), as of now, Bohol is under the GCQ status.
The same reports say that the province will be under the GCQ from. June 1 to 15, 2020 and local government units may ask the DILG to retain the requirements under certain conditions.
In a related development, DILG Sec. Eduardo Año on Sunday (May 31) said: ”Hindi na po natin kailangan ng quarantine pass para payagang makalabas sa ating bahay pero hindi po ito ‘unli’ na kahit anong oras ay puwede.”
Ańo in the same statement said, “Patuloy pa rin po ang pagpapatupad ng curfew hours ng ating mga local government units (LGU) at puwede rin pong i-require ang quarantine pass ng mga LGUs sa piling lugar sa kanilang nasasakupan.”
