The planned return of commercial flights in the country is impractical says the president of the Bohol Medical Society (BMS).
Dr. Ong issued the statement even if he said that the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) is not keen in allowing the return of commercial flights anytime soon.
In a radio interview, Ong asked: “For what purpose would the commercial flights here be?”
He also said that in case there would be visitors coming in to Bohol, they will just be subjected to a 14-day quarantine anyway.
Furthermore, the visitors may just end up spending their time here in quarantine, making the visits here impractical.
According to reports, the Inter Agency Task Force (IATF) said that the operation of commercial regional flights will depend on the consent of the local government units (LGU).
Meantime, he said that as far as doctors are concerned, it is best to maintain the enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) status, in order to safeguard the health of the people.
However, there is a need to take into consideration the economic impact of having ECQ.
