Lopez: MGCQ may be “possible” after June 15

Bohol to be under a modified general community quarantine (MGCQ) status is possible after June 15, 2020, Lopez bared.

Dr. Cesar Tomas Lopez, spokesman of the Capitol’s Covid efforts, said that there is a possibility for the province to be placed under MGCQ by the middle of the current month.

Lopez bared this possibility in a virtual presser this afternoon, Tuesday, June 2.

Presently, Bohol is under on a general community quarantine (GCQ) status until June 15, 2020.

He said that there is a possibility of a more relaxed rule after June 15.

He also floated the idea of the return of commercial domestic flights and even the possibility of seacraft resuming trips to and from Bohol.

Lopez also said that these issues, however, remain fluid and flexible.

As this developed, Lopez bared that the governor, with the mayors of Bohol and the Bohol-Inter Agency Task Force, had a meeting today, Tuesday (June 2, 2020), to discuss the possible status of Bohol‘s general quarantine situation after June 15, 2020.

He said in the meeting, that representatives from the Department of the Interior and Local Government, the Bohol Police Provincial Office, the Philippine Ports Authority, the Bureau of Quarantine, the Bureau of Fire Protection, and the medical doctors, among others, were engaged in an exchange of ideas for the possibility of Bohol entering into an MGCQ status.

Lopez made the assurance that any decision that will be arrived at in the meeting will not be at the expense of public health.
