Bohol Gov. Arthur Yap reminds the people to observe “aggressive prevention” as a way to avoid the Covid virus coming from asymptomatic carriers.
This was the reminder of the governor during the press conference on Friday’s (June 5, 2020) after he was asked of the possibility that asymptomatic carriers might have been the ones who infected the two persons who tested positive yesterday, June 4, 2020.
As this developed, the governor said that people should continue to wear face masks, follow social distancing, practice frequent hand washing, and avoid mass gatherings.
The governor advised the people to stay at home and avoid going out unless absolutely necessary.
“Continue observing the preventive measures we have repeatedly conveyed to the public,” the governor said.
During the Friday press conference, Yap noted the common features shared by the two new Covid-positive patients.
These common features are: both are senior citizens; both had no recent travel history to a Covid hot zone; the two have no history of exposure to locally stranded individuals (LSIs); and they had no history of exposure to overseas Filipino workers (OFWs).
Last Thursday (June 4, 2020), Bohol was rocked with the news about two patients, one from Tagbilaran and the other from Calape who tested positive of Covid infection.
The one from Calape died on May 26, 2020 (a day after his admission) while the other one from Tagbilaran City is recovering and being isolated in a private hospital.
