Gov. Celestino Gallares Memorial Hospital (GCGMH) chief of hospital Dr. Mutya Kismet Macuno apologizes for her remark calling people who don’t wear face masks in public and who don’t observe social distancing as “HAMBUGERO” or show off.
She expressed her apologies on Friday (June 5, 2020) in a radio interview.
Macuno said that she uttered the word “HAMBUGERO” as a matter of her personal expression.
Last Wednesday, (June 3, 2020), Macuno lambasted the people who are not following minimum health standards.
Her complete statement was “Hambugero na gyud kaayo ang mga tawo nga dili mag mask ug dili mag social distancing.”
Earlier last month, she also accused media of being the group causing confusion among the people. With this statement, she was referring to the difference of opinion between her and Dr. Bernadas as to where the two (2) GCGMH medical technologists who recently tested covid positive contracted the virus.
When asked by the media interviewer the condition of the 2 medical technologists, the conversation sounded like this:
Media Person – “Kumusta na man ang duha ka medical technologists, doc?”
Dr. Macuno – Tininuod kaha nang inyong pangumusta? Dili lang kaha na char char?”
Immediately after the interview, when the media person went out of the announcer’s booth, he was so disappointed and embarrassed especially that his co-media people expressed their words of sympathy to him for what happened.
