Police reports say that two (2) persons were shot dead in Mansasa district, Tagbilaran, mid morning today, Monday (June 8, 2020).
Initial reports bared that Carolino Pahang “Carol” Pahang, 64, and nephew Jobert Pahang, 38, both of Mansasa district here in the city were the fatalities in the shooting incident.
Police identified the suspect as Teodorico Linghon, 65, of Pahang st., Mansasa District, Tagbilaran City.
As of posting time, the suspect remains at large.
In a report received by The Bohol Tribune, the shooting incident happened at around 9:30 am, in the open area in front of the homes of both the suspect and former Mansasa councilor Paul Pahang. Paul Pahang is the brother of Carolino Pahang. The homes of the suspect and Paul Pahang are adjacent to each other.
It was reported that the Pahang family and the suspect has a prior conflict. The Pahangs complained about the digging that is going on in their neighbor’s vicinity.
The reports further say that Paul Pahang, the brother of Carol Pahang, claims the ongoing digging, allegedly done by the suspect has intruded into his (Paul’s) property.
According to Paul, he and the suspect had a heated argument about the alleged intrusion of the digging into his property; and this heated argument happened immediately before the shooting incident this Monday morning.
While the heated argument was going on, Jobert (the son of Paul Pahang), went out to defend his father and to rescue him from the situation. This prompted the suspect to go and enter his home to get his .45 caliber pistol, reports said.
Reports further say that Linghon (the suspect) allegedly shot Jobert. When this happened, Carolino Pahang responded to the incident and as he did this, Carolino was allegedly shot by Linghon.
The two victims were brought to Holy Name University Medical Center but were declared “dead on arrival”.
Reports also say that the suspect is a retired Army officer.
The police are now conducting hot pursuit operations in order to capture the suspect.
