Police: Death of man found off Tubigon shores is due to massive loss of blood

Tubigon police are saying that the cause of death of a man found lifeless off the waters of Barangay Tinangnan, Tubigon is massive loss of blood due to a penetrating wound. This statement is based on the findings of the Municipal Health Officer (MHO).

Senior Master Sgt. Darwin Andales told The Bohol Tribune, in a telephone
interview, Monday (June 8, 2020), that the fatality is identified as a certain Ronnie Langgoy, 29, of barangay Tinangnan.

The police officer said that based on the post-mortem investigation made by the Tubigon MHO Dr. Bernabe Batausa, the cause of death is massive loss of blood secondary to a penetrating wound.

Moreover, Andales said the MHO did not specify what kind of wound the victim sustained as a result of the massive loss of blood. He said, the MHO did not say if the wound is trom a gunshot.

In the same telephone interview, Andales said the victim’s family was advised to have the body autopsied in the case the family is not satisfied with the findings of the MHO.

BACKGROUND

Andales said that the police responded to a report that a lifeless body of a male person was discovered by another fisherman off the waters of Barangay Tinangnan on Monday (June 8, 2020).

Moreover, the lifeless body got entangled with an installed fishing cage off the seawaters of the said barangay, Andales added.

It was later found out on Monday (June 8, 2020) that the victim was the one on board a reported banca.

On Saturday (June 6, 2020), the police received information that there was an abandoned boat off the watera of barangay Tinangnan.

REACTION

As this developed, unverified information have been circulating that allegedly Langgoy was shot by seaborne patrol.

The Facebook post on Monday from s certain Jovy Baguinang Langgoy urged justice for her cousin Ronnie.

She alleged that her cousin just went out to sea on Saturday (June 6) to catch some fish but was accosted by the Bantay Dagat and allegedly shot.

In the Facebook post, Jovy alleged that the victim’s parents went to ask authorities on the whereabouts of the victim. The family members were told that the victim jumped off the banca.

In the same post, she said that it is surprising to note that there was blood in the banca where the victim boarded.

It was not clear in the post, what action will the family take with regards to the incident.
