LGU Panglao orders contact tracing in barangay Bil-isan

The local government unit (LGU) of Panglao announces contact tracing activity that starting yesterday, Saturday (June 13, 2020) in barangay Bil-isan after it was reported that one of the two health workers who tested positive for Covid “happened to interact heavily with some residents” of the said barangay. .

In a statement of LGU Panglao, it said, “The Local Government Unit of Panglao wishes to inform the public that contact tracing activity is handled right now (Saturday) at Purok Dos, Bil-isan, Panglao.”

Furthermore, the statement reads, “The contact tracing activity is hereby conducted after one of the two of the latest COVID-19 positive individuals working at a private hospital in Tagbilaran City happened to interact heavily with some residents of the said Purok at Bil-isan days before the result of the latest test conducted came out.”

The statement states further, “Conducting the contact tracing right now (Saturday) is a team composed of health personnel from the City Government of Tagbilaran, staff members of the Municipal Rural Health Unit of Panglao, and members of the Barangay Health Emergency Response Team.”

Additionally, the statement said, “Please be informed further that this COVID-19 positive individual is not a resident of the Municipality of Panglao however, his/her mother is momentarily residing at Barangay Bil-isan. The mother celebrated her birthday recently together with close associates including her son, who is the COVID-19 positive individual, hence the inter-personal interactions occurred.”

It was mentioned also in the statement that, “The local chief executive and the Municipal Health Officer of the Local Government Unit of Panglao strongly encourage all ‘Mga Panglaoanon’ to strictly follow the health protocols like staying at home, wearing of face masks at all times, washing of hands, comply (ing) with the distance rule.”

The final statement of the advisory encouraged the Panglao residents to PRAY and to . STAY SAFE.”
