FL Jane Yap hints possible legal action vs a Covid-positive medical worker

Tagbilaran City First Lady (FL) Jane Yap hints that the city legal department is looking at the possibility of filing legal action against a Covid-positive medical worker.

“Gi tanaw na sa legal department kung unsa ang mga cases nga e file,” Yap said in a Facebook post on Sunday, June 14, 2020.

In the same post, Yap said, “Naay report nga (one of the medical workers) ni break sa protocol ug ni escape sa hospital before ni abot ang result and ni attend ug party outside the city. Ni balik rapod sya sa hospital. Nag contact tracing napod sila didto.”

It was reported that one of the health workers allegedly attended the birthday party of his mother prior to being isolated.

Furthermore, the same reports said that this medical worker allegedly interacted heavily with residents of Barangay Bil-isan in Panglao.

Meantime, Yap also reported that the two (2) locally stranded individuals (LSIs) that tested positive for Covid infection via polymerase chain reaction (PCR) remain asymptomatic and isolated.

It is the city that initiated the PCR test on the LSIs.

The local government unit of Tagbilaran procured PCR test kits thus making it able to test the incoming LSIs for Covid infection.
