LGU Panglao orders lockdown of 7 houses in Bil-isan

Seven (7) houses in barangay Bil-isan in Panglao town are on lockdown and now under close watch by authorities as contact tracing In the area continues

In radio program “What’s On In Panglao” on Monday, June 15, 2020, executive assistant to the mayor of Panglao handling information said that the 7 houses are now under the tight monitoring of the authorities.

Executive Assistant Chandymar Batoy clarified that only 7 houses are under monitoring or on lockdown and not the entirety of Barangay Bil-isan in the same town.

Batoy said the needs of the residents of the 7 houses are being taken care of by the authorities.

In his program, Batoy said contact tracing was initiated as it was learned that the Covid-positive patient who is a medical worker paid a visit to his mother during a celebration.

The Covid-positive person paid a visit to his mother as the latter celebrated her birthday recently in Barangay Bil-isan.

The mother is not a native of Bil-isan but has taken residence in the area for quite some time now, Batoy said.

Batoy, in his program, said it was the City Health Office of Tagbilaran that contacted the Municipal Health Officer of Panglao where the former told the latter about the need to do contact tracing.

He further revealed that, allegedly, the mother of the Covid-positive person is a city government employee of Tagbilaran.

Last Friday, June 12, 2020, the city government of Tagbilaran bared information that two (2) health workers from a private hospital tested positive for Covid infection.

The private hospital, Allied Care Experts Medical Center on Saturday, June 13, 2020 admitted via a public statement released on Facebook, that the two medical workers who tested positive for Covid are working in the said facility.

The statement said the two health workers had contacts with the 65-year-old female former Covid-positive patient from Barangay Dao.

The statement from the hospital’s President, Dr. Ronald Ramiro claimed that the two medical workers are now in isolation.
