The Capitol spokesman for Covid-related matters, Dr. Cesar Tomas Lopez bares that two (2) doctors who were sent by the Provincial Health Office (PHO) and who are stationed at Pier One (1) in Cebu City, are now under quarantine after a reported exposure to a locally stranded individual (LSI) who tested positive for Covid infection.
Lopez bared the information in a virtual presser on Wednesday, June 18, 2030.
“Medyo na undang ang atong medical examinations karon sa Sugbu tungod lagi kay kadtong mga doktor nga anaa sa pier uno, nakaeksamin (man) niadtong positive LSI,” Lopez said.
Even if the LSi was asymptomatic when the doctors examined the person, still there was close contact, thus, the need for the physicians to undergo quarantine, Lopez revealed.
Lopez did not bare which Covid-positive LSI came in contact with the two (2) PHO doctors.
Currently, Lopez said the provincial government is looking for substitute doctors, while the two (2) original doctors are completing their 14 days quarantine.
The doctors are in Cebu to issue medical certificates to LSIs who are seeking to return to Bohol, the Capitol spokesman said.
Lopez in an earlier pronouncement said that aside from the medical certificate, a travel authority from the Philippine National Police (PNP) is needed by the LSI plus coordination with the receiving local government unit (LGU) in order for an LSI to return to Bohol and undergo the 14 days quarantine.
