(Joint reports from DCR, DSA, GAB)
Bohol mayors are meeting with Gov. Arthur Yap this afternoon, June 24, 2020, to discuss the policy on home quarantine of locally stranded individuals (LSIs) and overseas Filipino workers (OFWs).
The information was relayed to The Bohol Tribune by Buenavista Mayor Dave Duallo on Wednesday, June 24, 2020.
Duallo said Yap called the meeting as the chairman of the Bohol Inter Agency Task Force (B-IATF).
He added the consultative meeting is meant to get the position of the mayors on the issue of home quarantine of the repatriated Boholanos.
The Bohol Tribune has monitored some Boholanos expressing apprehension about home quarantine to be more lax in terms of security compared to local government unit (LGU)-managed quarantine facility.
The perceived lower level of security may be an opportunity for the virus to spread and cause local transmission.
It was reported by The Bohol Tribune that the town of Maribojoc is looking at home quarantine as an option in the event the LGU-managed quarantine facility is already filled to capacity.
Meantime, the mayors expect to discuss the protocols in the event the national IATF allows motorcycle backriding among family members.
