24 Bohol police officers go to Cebu for force augmentation

(Joint reports from DSA, DCR, GAB)

About 24 police officers from the Bohol Police Provincial Office (BPPO) are sent to Cebu City as part of the augmentation force of the said place.

According to reports, BPPO provincial director Col. Joselito Clarito personally sent off the police personnel on Wednesday, June 24, 2020, at the Tubigon port.

Reports say the augmentation forces are needed in Cebu City due to rising number of Covid cases there.

Currently, Cebu City is under enhanced community quarantine (ECQ), according to the national Inter Agency Task Force (IATF).

Police Regional Office 7 chief Brig. Gen. Albert Ignatius Ferro ordered the BPPO to send police personnel to augment forces already operating in Cebu City, to help in the strict implementation of the various protocols under ECQ.

Meantime, it was learned that the Police Regional Office 6 based in Western Visayas was the first regional office who sent police officers as augmentation force, followed by the Police Regional Office based in Eastern Visayas and the Siquijor police provincial office.
