Four (4) locally stranded individuals (LSIs) test positive for Covid infection after the Department of Health (DoH) released the latest results to the provincial government.

According to a report from the Capitol sent to media outlets on Saturday, June 27, 2020, out the four (4) new Covid positive cases, two (2) are from Tagbilaran, one (1) is from Catigbian and one (1) is from Talibon.

The four (4) LSIs are currently isolated in their LGU’s respective isolation centers, the report said.

With the four (4) new positive Covid cases, there are now 23 active cases in Bohol, based on the tracking of The Bohol Tribune.

“Atong gipahibaw ang mga Mayor sa matag lungsod kabahin sa resulta. Ang Provincial Health Office (PHO) nakig-alayon na sa mga Municipal Health Office (MHO) para sa pagpahigayon sa paspas nga contact tracing (We have informed the mahors of the different towns regarding the results (of the PCR test). The PHO is coordinating with the MHO for the conduct of a speedy contact tracing activity),” Gov. Arthur Yap said in a statement.

In a related development, the Capitol also reported that two (2) LSIs in Tagbilaran previously tested positive for Covid, remained infected of the virus based on the result of the repeat polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test.

In a text message to The Bohol Tribune last night, Dr. Jeia Pondoc said the two (2) new LSIs are both 36-year-old females, with one LSI from barangay Tip-tip and the other LSI from barangay Manga. Pondoc added that the two LSIs who tested positive for Covid are asymptomatic.

The Bohol Tribune reached out to Dr. Cesar Tomas Lopez, the Capitol spokesperson for Covid-related matters, and he revealed that the Catigbian LSI is a 33-year-old male while the LSI from Talibon is a 54-year-old male.

As this developed, the total Covid cases recorded in Bohol is now at 33 cases, based on the tracking of The Bohol Tribune.
