First District Cong. Edgar Chatto strengthens 1st district infra projects as he inspects the ongoing concreting of Poblacion-Libjo Road leading to Mirrors of the World Sikatuna and Sikatuna Tree Park, Sikatuna, Bohol (Libjo, Sikatuna). In the photo he is shown with Sikatuna Mayor Justiniana Ellorimo, Engr. Maribel Baranggot and Engr. Franz Sarabia of Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH), first district.
Chatto believes that the multiplier effect of infrastructure is at 3.5%. It enables job creation and strengthens the economy amid the slowdown due to the pandemic. He added that road development is vital to sustainability as it opens to economic opportunities such as this road section which leads to a tourism destination.
Funding for convergence projects such as roads leading to tourism destinations is provided in RA 9593 or the Tourism Act of 2009 authored by Chatto in Congress and Gordon in the Senate. Bohol is also declared an Eco-Cultural Tourism Zone through Chatto’s passage of RA 9446.
Road development also opens opportunities for agriculture, trade, commerce and industry, Chatto bares.
