The man who is confined at the Gov. Celestino Gallares Memorial Hospital (GCGMH) reportedly destroyed P3.3 million worth of medical equipment.

At the same time, GCGMH medical center chief Dr. Mutya Kismet Macuno expressed sadness over the incident. Macuno bared that incident in last Friday’s press briefing at the Capitol where she was one of the resource speakers.

Macuno also bared that the GCGMH legal team is looking at filing possible charges against the man who allegedly destroyed the medic equipment inside the regional hospital. It can be recalled that this patient is the same one earlier reported on Thursday, June 26, 2020 who jumped off the second floor of the GCGMH building, in an escape try.

The 43-year-old male patient was reportedly suffering from anxiety and is reportedly mentally “unstable”. After the incident, the patient was taken under the care of the Behavioral Science department and was sedated.

Macuno reported that after the man woke up from being sedated on Friday, the former ran amok and destroyed two (2) cardiac monitors worth P 800,000 each and a ventilator worth P1.2 million.

Macuno expressed sadness that despite their efforts to help those who are medically-impacted by respiratory ailment, the hospital has to face such challenges from this particular issue.
