Over 12k persons arrested for violating quarantine protocols

The Bohol Police Provincial Office (BPPO) reports that 12, 357 persons in Bohol were arrested for violating various community quarantine protocols being implemented in the province.

BPPO provincial director Col. Joselito Clarito said the report logged violations spanning the period from March 16, 2020 until June 29, 2020.

According to reports, about 6,660 persons in Bohol were arrested for violating social distancing rules.

At the same time, 2,602 were arrested due to failure of wearing the face masks while in public.

Reports added that 550 persons were arrested for violating the partial liquor ban.

Around 892 violators of no backride policy were also arrested.

The same report said 711 minors were accosted for violating the 24-hour curfew while 127 senior citizens were arrested for the same violation.

In the same report, it was learned that 815 persons were arrested for violating the general curfew from 9 am to 5 pm.

Depending on the violation for this rule, apprehended individuals were either reprimanded or cases were filed against them.

Clarito said that personnel of the BPPO are steadfast in implementing the various community quarantine protocols.

Currently, Bohol is under modified general community quarantine (MGCQ) until July 15, 2020 based on Executive Order No. 33 issued by Gov. Arthur Yap.
