62 LSIs from Manila set to arrive here

(Joint report DCR, DSA, GAB)

Provincial director of the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Jerome Gonzales, confirms that 62 locally stranded individuals (LSIs) are set to arrive here from Manila via a Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) vessel, reports say.

The repatriation is being undertaken through the “Hatid Probinsya” program, a program that aims to help LSIs return to their respective hometowns, the same report adds.

Bohol has been accepting repatriated LSIs since May 2020, and upon arrival, they will be subjected to 14-day quarantine in their respective local government unit’s (LGU) quarantine facility.

Moreover, in an interview with The Bohol Tribune on Sunday, July 5, 2020, Gonzales said the LSIs are expected to arrive either tonight, July 6, 2020 or tomorrow morning, July 7, 2020.

In line with this, the DILG provincial office already coordinated with the Bohol Inter Agency Task Force (B-IATF) for the extraction of the arrival of the LSIs here so they can be safely fetched by the respective LGU focal persons and placed under quarantine.
