PGBh sends P19.9M in cash assistance to offshore Boholanos

The Bohol provincial government sends a total of P 19.9 million in cash assistance to offshore Boholanos, according to the report by Kevin Damalerio, the Capitol information cluster head.

He bared his report in a radio interview over “Open Forum” on Monday, July 6, 2020.

He said that around 9,888 offshore Boholanos have received the P2,000 cash assistance from the provincial goverment sent through various cash remittance centers. The provincial government sent cash assistance to offshore Boholanos located in various areas in the country.

Damalerio added that around 2,747 offshore Boholanos are waiting to receive cash assistance from the provincial government. The budget for the cash assistance is being processed and now pending in the Provincial Treasurer’s Office and the Provincial Accountant’s Office.

Originally, the budget for the cash assistance was pegged at P5 million, but the budget reached nearly P20 million as offshore Boholanos reached out to the provincial government seeking financial assistance, Damalerio bared in the interview.

The provincial government created a Facebook page where the offshore Boholanos were able to connect with authorities seeking financial assistance, he said.
