Balilihan TUPAD beneficiaries get work

Balilihan’s Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers (TUPAD) beneficiaries get temporary work espeically those who lost their jobs due to the pandemic.

On Tuesday, July 7, 2020, Balilihan mayor Maria Pureza Chatto bared that the members of the third group of TUPAD beneficiaries get temporary jobs.

The latest group of TUPAD workers was tasked to help in the distribution of food packs from the LGU to all families in the town.

Tge group also helped in the preparation and clean -up of the municipal quarantine and isolation facilities.

Previous groups worked by sewing facial masks while the second batch helped disinfect the barangay’s different areas, the mayor said.

Chatto said these people did not simply receive money without doing anything, but TUPAD beneficiaries received payment for the work they performed.

TUPAD is a community-based package of assistance that provides emergency employment for displaced workers, underemployed and seasonal workers, for a minimum period of 10 days to a maximum of 30 days depending on the nature of work to be performed.

Chatto thanked the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) and the office of the first district congressman of Bohol for the help these two offices have given especially in their decision to consider Balilihan as an area where the TUPAD program is implemented.

TUPAD beneficiaries have benefited from the help of Dole & Cong. Edgar Chatto and have expressed their gratitude for the privilege.
