Police in Carmen, Sagbayan remain asymptomatic

(Joint report from DCR, DSA, GAB)

The police officers from Carmen and Sagbayan remain asymptomatic as they are isolated to determine whether or not they are infected with the Covid virus following the death of Major Jonel Torregosa.

This was revealed by Major Norman Nuez, the operations chief of Bohol Police Provincial Office (BPPO) in an interview with The Bohol Tribune on Thursday, July 9, 2020.

Nuez added that the BPPO is still awaiting for the polymerase chain reaction (PCR) results of Torregosa, who used to be the chief of police of Carmen police station who died last Saturday, July 5, 2020.

It was learned that the personnel of Carmen police station and some personnel of the Sagbayan police station were placed under quarantine after being tagged as close contacts of the late police major.

As this developed, the operations of Carmen police station remain uninterrupted as the BPPO sent 18 police personnel as temporary substitute to man the said police station as the regular police personnel are placed under quarantine, Major Jacinto Mandal, the police community relations chief at the BPPO said.

The Sagbayan police station’s operation remain uninterrupted even if there are six (6) Sagbayan police station personnel were placed under quarantine, according to Nuez.
