Mayor Yap graces Police PCR month celebration 

City Mayor John Geesnell “BABA” Yap is a vibrant speaker and is always ready to share his thoughts anytime when asked. This occasion shows him delivering the keynote address during the kick-off activity of the 25th celebration of the Police Community Relations Month led by the entire force of the Bohol Provincial Police Office (BPPO) under Police Colonel Joselito Clarito. The occasion also coincides with the blessing and opening of the Makatao and Malasakit Recovery Center for all the PNP frontliners who are fighting Covid-19 in Bohol. The 32-bed quarantine facility is located at Brgy. Poblacion 2 in Tagbilaran City. During this occasion, Mayor Yap is being joined by other invited guests: board member Ricky Masamayor, Poblacion 2 barangay captain Dr. Alan Real, Panglao Mayor Leonila Montero, and Ubay Mayor Constantino Reyes. Presidential Proclamation No. 764 signed on January 24, 2005 declares the month of July every year as Police Community Relations (PCR) Month. PCR Month celebration aims to develop closer interaction between the police and the community in handling peace and order concerns. In his speech, Mayor Yap underscored the importance of strengthening community participation in crime prevention where he committed to forge stronger partnership between and community support to the BPPO to advance the peacekeeping and public safety efforts of the PNP. 

MULTICABS ON THE GO. The service vehicles in the photo are lined up along the City Hall Grounds and these are always ready for renforcement to the different barangays as needed. To date, 14 of these vehicles have already been readied for the mobility and transport of any Tagbilaranon in times of emergency and calamity.
