Two (2) houses are now being monitored in barangay Taguihon of Baclayon following the death of a resident, according to Taguihon punong barangay Ulysses Tomarong.

Tomarong also said that there are four (4) persons who are placed in the barangay isolation center after exhibiting symptoms related to Covid infection.

The persons are now in the barangay isolation facility. They were placed in the facility last July 10, 2020 and were subjected to swab tests for polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test last July 12, 2020.

He bared this in a radio interview on Tuesday, July 14, 2020, over “Newsmakers ug Uban Pa” hosted by Ardy Araneta-Batoy and Chandymar Batoy.

Moreover, Tomarong said that the two (2) houses in purok 7 are now closely monitored and the residents of the houses are not allowed to go out until the results of the PCR test of the fatality gets released.

Furthermore, Tomarong said that four (4) persons were isolated as they were having some cough, colds, and fever, which are symptoms related to Covid infection. The symptoms appeared prior to the death of the person who is considered as Covid suspect, Tomarong explained.

He reported that the persons who are currently in isolation are no longer exhibiting any symptoms.

Tomarong explained that the reason those persons who exhibited symptoms earlier were isolated is for protection and as a form of precautionary measure. Tomarong also said that he is only following the protocols set by the government in relation to these kinds of cases.

DEATH OF A RESIDENT

Tomarong revealed in the interview that there was a person from his village who died recently and was buried immediately.

The person who died used to live in Purok 7, barangay Taguihon, Baclayon. The person died on July 9, 2020 due to throat cancer.

He said that one day he received communication from a nurse of the Rural Health Unit (RHU) of Baclayon saying that the corpse should be buried immediately.

The Covid suspect patient was brought to the Gov. Celestino Gallares Memorial Hospital (GCGMH) and died in the said hospital.

Tomarong was informed that there were swab samples taken from the one eho died and these samples were sent to Cebu for PCR testing. He said the results are still pending the release.

The fatality was buried in the municipal cemetery, Tomarong said.
