13-year-old is newest Covid positive patient in Bohol

A 13-year-old male is the newest Covid positive patient in Bohol. The Covid positive patient is from purok Centro 1, barangay Dampas, Tagbilaran City, according to Tagbilaran City Mayor John Geesnell Yap II.

The mayor said that the minor is the cousin of the Tagbilaranon who went to Manila on July 6, and tested positive for Covid via polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test in Manila on July 11.

The mayor assured that the asymptomatic 13-year-old male has been in quarantine since the time the city government received information about the Covid-positive Tagbilaranon in Manila.

As a consequence of the latest result, Yap said that he is ordering a lockdown of the houses located in the area where the 13-year-old is residing.

On the other hand, the boy and his close family members were transferred to an isolation facility.

After learning that a Tagbilaranon tested positive for Covid in Manila, the city conducted PCR tests on the said person’s close contacts. The boy is the only one who tested positive among the close contact of the Tagbilaranon that went to Manila.

In this regard, Yap said that there will be repeat PCR tests in the offing.
