A 39-year-old man from Catigbian, who is currently confined at the Catigbian District Hospital tests positive for Covid infection accorrding to Dr. Cesar Tomas Lopez, the Capitol spokesman for Covid-relatee matters.
Looez bared the information during the virtual presser on Monday, July 20, 2020.
Lopez said the Covid positive patient has been admitted in the said hospital for the last 10 days due to mild pneumonia and was tagged as a stable moderate acute respiratory infection (MARI) patient.
Per protocol, he was subjected to rapid antibody test. The test showed that the patient was immunoglobulin M positive (IgM). As his test showed positive IgM, he was subjected to a polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test.
Lopez revealed that the patient has been in an isolation room in the said hospital since the start of his admission.
All hospital staff and doctors who attended to the Covid positive patient have been using full personal protective equipment (PPE) right at the start of the patient’s confinement at the Catigbian District Hospital, Lopez mentioned in the presser.
According to the attending physician, the patient’s condition has recovered from his mild pneumonia, and the patient’s fever is gone.
Lopez said that contact tracing activities already started last week even if the results just came in today, July 20, 2020.
All of the close contacts have been placed under quarantine, Lopez reports in the presser.
