Montero signs EO setting protocols for residents, visitors

Panglao mayor Leonila Montero signs an executive order setting protocols for local residents and visitors.

The lady mayor signed Executive Order No. 22 on July 14, 2020 and took effect on July 16, 2020, and will remain in effect unless revoked.

The measure was the subject of a meeting of the Panglao Inter Agency Task Force (P-IATF) on Thursday, July 16, 2020 held at the Panglao Cultural Center.

The new EO aligns with the classification of the national IATF the status that Bohol is under modified community quarantine (MGCQ). The rules in the EO are meant to ensure the town’s status as the standard bearer of the province as far as the so-called “new normal” lifestyle is concerned.

The EO features minor changes in the curfew rules. In Panglao, the curfew imposed on the general population starts at 10 pm and ends at 5 pm the next day. The provincial curfew starts at 9 am until 5 pm of the same day.

In the same EO, persons aged 18 years old or below may go out of their homes on Saturdays and Sundays from 6 am to 6 pm. The minors need to be accompanied by at least one (1) parent or guardian, who js not a senior citizen.

However, minors who assist fisherfolks or farmers are exempted from the specific curfew.

On the other hand, persons who are aged 65 years old and over may leave their respective homes during Wednesdays, Saturdays, and Sundays from 6 am to 6 pm.

Fishermen or farmers aged 65 years old and over are exempted from the rule to stay indoors.

The EO states that the one (1) home quarantine pass per household rule stays.

In the same EO, face-to-face classes in schools in Panglao are disallowed. Also, there is a partial liquor ban and regulated operation of businesses in the town.

The EO is silent on the no pillory riding or no backriding on motorcycle rule, Montero expressed her support to the rules that will be implemented by the Bohol IATF, the Department of the Interior and Local Government, and the national IATf regarding the issue.
