Tagbilaranons can get work in job matching platform

The effect of the pandemic is being felt all around the world, especially among workers. The business community is also badly hit causing enterprise owners to downsize their operations, thus affecting employment.

Tagbilaran City is not exempted from this situation as job loss has become a major challenge  for some of the city’s constituents.

Thus, the City Government of Tagbilaran, through the Public Employment Services Office (PESO) spearheaded the Tagbilaran Online Job Matching platform, where the platform serves as an intermediary between employers and job-seekers by providing useful information to both parties.

For those interested, both the employers and job-seekers may fill-out the survey form, according to the City Media Bureau in its report. The submitted online survey forms are automatically archived in the PESO office.

The filled-out online survey forms of the job-seekers will be matched by the PESO office to certain employers. Once a match is made, the PESO office will direct the job-seeker to the employer.

City Mayor John Geesnell Yap welcomes the idea of helping the workers who have been displaced during this pandemic is crucial.

“This is an important issue that we should really address. More than the health threat, job loss is another burden which some of us have to carry. The City Government is continually finding ways to address this gap. Hopefully, the online job matching could be of help. I thank the PESO for their efforts in manning the initiative”, Yap said.
