The secretaries of the Interior and Local Government and Tourism are set to arrive in Bohol either Thursday or Friday to take a look at the readiness of Bohol to accept regional tourists in the future.

The Interior and Local Government Sec. Eduardo Año and Tourism Sec. Bernadette Puyat are expected to arrive here, according to a repost of Panglao executive assistant for public relations Chandymar Araneta-Batoy.

The two will fly in and leave the place a few moments just to check the readiness of Bohol tourism, Batoy revealed in his radio program “What’s On In Panglao” on Monday, July 27, 2020.

With the development, Batoy said the Panglao Inter Agency Task Force (P-IATF), met on Monday afternoon to arrange the preparations for the two national figures’ expected arrival late this week.

There are plans to restart the tourism industry in Bohol, severely hit by the lockdown due to the coronavirus disease (Covid) pandemic.

However, it has been reported that Gov. Arthur Yap is cautious and opts for the gradual reopening of the tourism industry as the end of the pandemic is still uncertain.
