Inabanga barangay councilor shot

A Inabanga barangay councilor is shot by a painter, police reports say.

The incident happened yesterday evening (Sunday, July 27, 2020).

According to the same report, the suspect is identified as Ricky Cajes, 51, of Sitio Boho, arangay San Jose of the said municipality.

The same report adds that Cajes allegedly shot the victim identified as Renato Sendrijas,45, supervisor of a power line electrical company and barangay councilor of barangay San Jose, Inabanga.

Initial investigation reveals that the victim and his wife were standing outside their print shop located at barangay San Jose when suddenly the suspect approached the couple and opened fire at the victim.

The victim sustained a gunshot wound on the right thigh. The victim was able to crawl to
safety inside his print shop.

The report also bares that the suspect fled after the shooting incident.

Police from Inabanga and Sagbayan immediately conducted a hot pursuit operation and managed to arrest the suspect.

The suspect is currently detained in the Inabanga police station as charges will be filed against him shortly.
