265 LSIs are expected to arrive in Bohol today

About 265 locally stranded individuals (LSI) divided into four (4) groups are set to arrive in Bohol today, July 28, 2020 from Manila.

This was revealed by Dr. Anthony Damalerio, head of the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRMMO) duting the July 27, 2020 edition of “Newsmakers ug Uban Pa” hosted by Ardy Araneta-Batoy and Gloria Ines Araneta.

He revealed that the LSIs are expected to arrive here from Manila by late afternoon or early evening today, Tuesday, July 29.

The trip of the LSIs is under the “Hatid Tulong” program of the national government.

He said that this is the biggest single batch to arrive in Bohol since the province allowed the return of LSIs back in May 2020.

Damalerio said the incoming LSI batch is divided into groups where each group is on board a Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) vessel.

The PDRMMO is coordinating with the various local government units (LGU) so that the LSIs can be properly received and will have accommodations in the quarantine facilities.

Just like the previous LSIs that arrived here in Bohol, the incoming batch of LSIs did not get tested for coronavirus disease (Covid) prior to arrival. The LSIs need to complete a 14-day quarantine in a quarantine facility prepared by their respective LGU.

Depending on the LGU, the LSIs will be tested prior to their release and return to their homes, based on earlier reports.
