The provincial government of Bohol (PGBh) distributes starting today, Saturday, August 8, 2020, an eight (8)-kilo rice pack to each family in 10 towns in the province, Gov. Arthur Yap says.
The governor revealed the information during the press conference on Friday, August 7, 2020.
The 10 towns are Alburquerque, Baclayon, Corella, Alicia, Antequera, Batuan, Bilar, Duero, Guindulman, and Sevilla. These towns comprise batch 1, the governor added.
The towns of Bohol are divided into batches and each will have its turn soon where each family will receive the rice pack and the Bohol contact tracing cards.
The rice packs are the relief packages from the provincial government which is part of the “Bohol: We Survive As One” fund.
Moreover, the governor, in earlier engagements with the media, said that the goal of the Bohol contact tracing card is to make contact tracing easier. The cards are based on the quick response (QR) code technology.
Each time a person enters an establishment, the Bohol contact tracing card needs to be presented. The QR code will be scanned prior to entry. The information is sent to a server, the governor bared.
Furthermore, the information that is stored can be used in contact tracing activities, the governor explained.
In earlier pronouncements, Yap said that it would depend on the Bohol mayors whether or not to replace the current home quarantine pass with the Bohol contact tracing card.
