Tagbilaran’s new bus units that are seen in the city are made available as a way to help the transportation needs of the city residents especially during this time of the pandemic, according to reports from the City Media Bureau..

The Tagbilaran city government recently acquired two (2) new buses and Tagbilaran City Mayor John Geesnell Yap II has bared that these buses are ready to serve the frontliners, volunteers, and patients who are in need of transportation services.

The same report from the City Media Bureau said that the city government has been providing free rides to medical personnel, frontliners, volunteers, and dialysis patients, since the start of the city’s response to the coronavirus disease (Covid) pandemic.

The frontliners play a key role in Tagbilaran City’s efforts to fight Covid, the mayor revealed and because of this, the mayor is more than willing to give the best care to them.

Mayor Yap added that strict safety measures are mandated observed in the use of the buses where face shield and face masks are being provided to the drivers. Moreover, the buses are also disinfected after every trip and the passengers are required to strictly observe social distancing.

Mayor Yap also said that these free bus rides have been welcomed assistance given to the workers.

“Given the restrictions brought about by the quarantine such as limited transportation and curfew hours, the free bus ride has truly provided convenience, especially to those living in remote barangays”, Yap said.
