Guv says Bohol Covid situation is under control

Gov. Arthur Yap assures the Boholano public that the coronavirus disease (Covid) situation in the province is “under control”.

He gave the assurance in a video message posted in his verified Facebook page on Monday, August 17, 2020.

The governor gave the assurance as the cases of active community cases increase and the number of Covid-related deaths hikes.

He cited the facts that Malingin and Guindacpan Islands are now under lockdown. Malingin Island is under lockdown due to a rise of community transmission cases. On the other hand, Guindacpan Island is under lockdown after a resident who had no travel history died last Sunday, August 16, 2020.

Moreover, he reminded the people to continue following the minimum health standards as a way to prevent the spread of the virus.

Meanwhile, Yap chided criticisms that the provincial government is keeping the truth about the Covid cases in Bohol.

He said the provincial government chooses to divulge the reports coming from the laboratories in the hope that the information will urge everyone to be concerned and aware of the Covid situation here.
