Bohol’s death toll reaches 7

Bohol’s coronavirus disease (Covid) death toll reaches 7, after a two (2)-year-old child died after tested positive for the said disease.

The child died on Wednesday, August 19, 2020, according to Bohol Inter Agency Task Force (B-IATF) spokesman Dr. Cesar Tomas Lopez also on Wednesday.

The report on the death of the child was confirmed by Buenavista Mayor Dave Duallo in a report.

It can be remembered that a child from Buenavista was rushed to the Francisco Dagohoy Memorial Hospital (FDMH) in Inabanga due to diffifulty in breathing.

The child was then referred to the Gov. Celestino Gallares Memorial Hospital (GCGMH) and was subjected to a swab test on Monday, August 17, 2020.

According to Lopez the child was severely malnourished and suffered from a congenital condition prior to admission to the GCGMH.

Per protocol, the child was buried immediately, Duallo said.

Meantime, Duallo said the lockdown on sitio Nangka, barangay Putingbato stays and has affected at least 30 households.

Duallo added that the child is fhe first community transmission case in Buenavista town.

With this development, as of August 19, 2020, Bohol has a total of 131 Covid cases, with 101 patients reportedly having recovered from the disease.
